Do you wish you could stress less?
Know you are not alone. We came blame stress for distracting us, but we can’t blame it for our sleepless nights. We can’t blame it for how we treat people we love. We can’t blame it for how we eat.
We can blame all of that on how we deal with our stress.
Chronic stress contributes to substance abuse, type 2 diabetes, ulcers, weight gain, high blood pressure, heart disease, and so many other chronic diseases.
Spiritual Girl’s Approach to Stress Less
Breathe | The Breath is a fantastic tool. Control your breath and control your inner world. Whenever you start to feel stressed, take a deep breath. Then take several more deep breaths until you feel relaxed.
Dance | Jam on it. I love music. If you do too, put on your favorite jam and dance it out. There’s nothing like hearing your song.
Talk | Reach out and talk to someone. Studies show talking it out with someone you can trust reliefs stress and helps give you more perspective on your situation.
Walk | Get some fresh air. It’s incredible what some air and a sun kiss can do to raise your vibe to counter the effects of stress.
Rest | If you’re not resting your body is not healing from everyday stress. Take a time-out when you need one.
Learn | Distract yourself by focusing on something you’re interested in for fun is a great way to put stress in its place.
Smile | When things are going to the crapper, smile. There are things we cannot control and when those times happen, smile. Know it’s okay. It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.
Focus | Immerse yourself in a big project that you have wanted to get done for a while. Use an inspired project as a distraction to get through difficult times.
Remember | Close your eyes and take yourself to the last time you felt really good and completely relaxed. Take in that moment and allow yourself to go back there and feel them. Let go of what is stressing you out and hold on to those good feelings. If you’d like to try a cool positive mindset technique I learned in Neurolinguistics Training, click here.
