How do you get inspired?

As you take on your dreams, goals, or adventures, you need to take time to notice your feelings. If you are feeling self-assured and excited you are in an inspired mode and if you are feeling frantic and depleted, you have moved into motivation mode. 3 Simple Ways to Get Inspired

Well, it’s close to impossible to always be inspired, but there are ways to get yourself back into an inspired space.  Here are a few of my favorite tired and true methods to get inspired on-demand.

1 | Journal. Writing out the reasons why you are working on a project is a great resource when you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and depleted. It helps to be reminded of why you started working on your project in the first place.

2 | Listen to Music. Ever notice how music can magically take us from empty to full within a few lyrics? Create a playlist that inspires you. My inspirational playlist changes all the time. Some of my favs  are Sade, Robin Thicke, and Jai-Jagdeesh.

3 | Reface Your Space. This is my personal favorite. Rearrange and reorganize your workspace. Do what you want–even just rearranging the supplies you use regularly or clearing a small surface to prepare for the next step in your project is going to boost your inspired energy.

When I worked in corporate America I was always motivated to do my personal best. Always measuring myself against the person I wanted to be. I have learned that taking action from a place of inspiration is how we create a life worth living. Pushing too hard only builds resistance and keeps us from what we really want.

Now, it’s your turn.
