Is the success you want closer today than it was yesterday, or last month for that matter?

It’s like running on a treadmill. You move and move, and it doesn’t matter, you never get anywhere. I’ve been there, and that’s why I want to share with you what you can do to start feeling less like you’ve surrendered and more like a success.

I have been an entrepreneur for over a decade. During that time, I have had many successes and triple the failures. And you know what? It’s okay. There is no judgment, shame, or a waste of time. I have learned so much through my experiences.

When you live your life courageously, you open yourself to learning some incredible lessons because of your failures. It’s when you don’t understand the lessons and cause the same failures to happen over and over again is when it becomes problematic.

3 Things You Must Stop Doing to Achieve Success

There are three things that contribute to recurring failures. If we stop doing these things, we will gain a clear understanding of the lessons being taught by our failures, hence making them less likely to occur again and more likely to contribute to our success.

1 | Stop flying by the seat of your pants. I know it’s fun to take each day as it comes. Letting the wind carry you from one place to another like a tumbleweed without a purpose. But, this is not how you live a full and productive life. Yes, allow yourself to dream and take a few days off, but action is necessary to be successful at what you chose. Never forget that.

Start planning to take action that matters. Create a specific action list that is going to map out what you must do to consistently and progressively get closer to achieving success. Planning gives you the freedom to actually enjoy your time without regret. Planning means never having to think, “I wish I did this,” or “I could have done that.”

2 | Stop making decisions on the fly. You know you’re making decisions on the fly when you do something then almost immediately regret it or feel like it was a waste of your energy, money, or time. Filtering through the noise to connect with a vision of how you want to be and what you want to experience can be challenging. Give yourself the gift of a pause to think things through before you decide.

Start being more thoughtful about what you want. The problem is not the chaos of the Material World. The problem is a lack of clarity. The only way we can create clarity is by digging deep to discover what we want to experience and create to make our life worth living. When you have clarity, the options that come about what to invest time in are less confusing. Say yes to the things that will make life happier, and no to the things that won’t.

3 | Stop multi-tasking. It’s easy to get tricked into thinking the more you do at the same time, the more you get done. But it’s a fallacy. Studies have proven, those who multitask are 25% less productive and make 32% more mistakes than those who don’t. Taking shortcuts to getting your work done just isn’t worth it when it doesn’t get done right the first time.
Start focusing on what matters. What you decide to invest your time deserves your full attention. Don’t cheat yourself out of the experience by being distracted. Be fully present and focus on what you are doing. Not only will you get it done faster, you will also get more out of the experience.

If you don’t take the time to plan, get clear, and take focused action to achieve what you desire, you betray your true essence. We are all born with the tools to achieve success. However, if we don’t do what’s necessary to heed the lessons from our failures, we’ll never discover what we can achieve.

Now it’s your turn. Think of the lessons you learned that have helped you achieve success.

In it I share a lifestyle management system for women who want to achieve work-life balance and the success they desire without sacrificing their health, wealth, and happiness. I’m debunking the myth that work-live balance doesn’t exist.

I truly hope it helps women connect to their inner spirit, so they could feel as good on the inside as they make things look on the outside.
