“If you want a different life experience, you must think differently about what you can experience.”
~Carmen M. Perez, The Wellbeing Messenger

Do you ever wish something in your life was different than it is today?

Things like…

I wish I was luckier.

I wish I had more energy.

I wish I had more close friends.

There was a time when I wished things like more success, to matter, and to be happy. These things represented a well-lived life for me.

However, it was not until I changed the way that I spoke to myself, did I realize how I could create a life worth living.  I used to tell myself success meant working hard and long hours. Of course, that’s what my success entailed.  I used to tell myself I didn’t matter because I felt lonely and no one reached out to me. Of course, I closed myself off so one could reach out.  I used to tell myself to be happy I had to have more, more money, validation, and things. Of course, I never got there because I kept raising the bar.

Things didn’t change for me until I was willing to change from the inside.  Then my outer world changed for me.  To do this, I had to think differently.  I could not achieve the things I wanted for myself while telling myself I could not get there. I could not be successful while thinking I had to take so much effort to get there. I could not matter while thinking I had nothing to offer or no value to contribute. I could not be happy while thinking about all the things that did not make me happy.  My mission to create a life worth living led me to learn about the way we speak to ourselves impacts our psyche and the power of affirmations.

The way we speak to ourselves matters.  It creates an imprint for the Material World that delivers exactly what we ask.

Most of us have an inner dialogue that quite frankly isn’t very nice.

Do you ever tell yourself you’re a fool for wanting something different than what you have?

We all do it, but we can change that by being intentional with the words we use to speak to ourselves. Through the power of affirmations, we can change the way we think and attract into our lives.
